Shahid Kapoor’s next Bollywood flick ‘Udta Punjab’ has landed in a soup, as the Censor Board wants the makers to do away with ‘Punjab’ from the title. The movie actor urges that the film is not just about one particular state. “Just because the title is ‘Udta Punjab’, everybody is only thinking that drugs is a problem in Punjab. First of all, the state lies within this country. Therefore, a problem in part of India should be a problem for the entire country. This is an issue for the entire nation. Drugs and related problems are something that the coming generation should be aware of. Substance is considered very cool nowadays, it has become very easily available. ‘Udta Punjab’ is trying to spread awareness about an issue,” says Shahid Kapoor, who plays a pop star, deep into substance abuse. ‘Udta Punjab’ releases on June 17 but if the Censor Board sticks to its guns and compels the makers to drop Punjab from the movie’s title, it may have to change name. Celebs and cinema world are under shock and murmurs have started on how much appropriate it is for the Censor Board to ask the Bollywood filmmakers to go thus far.
