The Central Board of Film Certification has found itself in hot waters recently with respect to their refusal to certify certain films based on uncomfortable subjects, however the team of ‘Yeh Hai India’ were ecstatic when their patriotic film was passed by the board. “It depends upon movie to movie. If the content is good then the film definitely it deserves the grace provided by the CBFC team.” said Pahlaj Nihalani, chairperson of CBFC.

Lomharsh the director and writer of the film was a bit nervous due to the recent events involving the CBFC and the film fraternity, however he was pleasantly surprised when his film was not only given the green signal but was also praised for showcasing India in a positive light. Furthermore ‘Yeh Hai India’ was also termed as a must-watch film with a strong message by the committee members of the board. “It was a moment of pure joy for me to see the board react in such a positive manner, the effort and hard work put in by everyone right from day one felt worthwhile. Such appreciation is what pushes us filmmakers to create such wonderful films,” said Lomharsh, director of ‘Yeh Hai India’.

‘Yeh Hai India’ stars Gavie Chahal, Deana Uppal, Jan Bostock, Mohan Agashe and Mohan Joshi. The story is based on observations made by a writer during his travel to several countries; on a wider perspective it covers the thoughts and views of other people about India. Produced by Sandeep Choudhry under the banner of DLB production, ‘Yeh Hai India’ is set to hit the theatres soon.
