Priyanka Chopra had been in talks with Sanjay Leela Bhansali (SLB) for a film and looks like this Bollywood actress has given a nod to Sahir Ludhianvi biopic titled ‘Gustakhiyan’. Reports suggest that Sanjay Leela Bhansali will begin work on ‘Gustakhiyan’ after he wraps up ‘Padmavati’. With ‘Gustakhiyan’, Priyanka has assured a grand return to Bollywood, after she was last seen in a full-fledged role in ‘Jai GangaaJal’ in 2016. Abhishek Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan are the names speculated to play Sahir Ludhianvi in the celebrated poet’s romantic silver screen story. Piggy Chops’ much talked about Hollywood debut, ‘Baywatch’ released last week and has made little noise at the Box Office in India. Hence it seems like Bollywood is indeed calling out loud to PeeCee.
This year, Priyanka made a couple of flying visits to Mumbai when she met a few filmmakers and read scripts, possibly including that of ‘Gustakhiyan’. While she may have bagged SLB’s next, the Bollywood actress has lost out on ‘Fanney Khan’. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was quick to come on board to replace Priyanka and grab that film. On the other hand, Priyanka Chopra is considering Kalpana Chawla biopic as well apart from ‘Gustakhiyan’.
On the Hollywood front, Priyanka’s debut was well received in the West and the actress continues to make glamorous appearances as she walks the red carpet at several international events. She has also bagged roles in two more films, ‘A Kid Like Jake’ and ‘Isn’t It Romantic’ and will also be shooting for the third season of her TV show ‘Quantico’. While her international commitments are keeping her busy, Priyanka is also keeping a close eye on a grand Bollywood return with ‘Gustakhiyan’, Kalpana Chawla biopic and other films!
