Madhuri Dixit remains silent about joining politics
Madhuri Dixit is yet to come out in the open and make it official about joining politics under Bhartiya Janata Party and contesting from the Pune constituency
Reports of Madhuri Dixit joining politics erupted yesterday, leading to a frenzy of fans lauding the actress’ new move. It was reported that Madhuri will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2019 as a candidate of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) from the Pune constituency. Being a Maharashtrian herself and also being popular with the Marathi people, Madhuri would make for a good candidate in the constituency, feels the political party. However, the Dhak-Dhak girl of Bollywood has maintained a stoic silence about jumping into politics and serving the nation, and is yet to confirm her stand. If at all she indeed decides to make inroads into politics, the actress will join other Bollywood stars like Jaya Bachchan, Rekha, Hema Malini and Kirron Kher, who already hold important positions either in their respective parties or in the government.
On the work front, Madhuri Dixit will be seen in Karan Johar-produced ‘Kalank’ which boasts of an ensemble cast like Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. She will also be seen in ‘Total Dhamaal’ alongside Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn.
