‘Pamavati’ is seeing a lot of protests from across the country for allegedly distorting facts. The film’s director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and lead actor Shahid Kapoor have maintained that ‘Padmavati’ doesn’t contain anything objectionable as it is made out to be with a dream sequence between Alauddin Khilji and queen Padmini. However Deepika Padukone, who plays the titular role in the film, prefers to not comment on the controversy. “I will not say anything,” quips Deepika. Playing the royal character of Rani Padmini, Deepika has been showered with praises for her role and dance performance in ‘Ghoomar’. “We are very overwhelmed by the response and the love that we are getting for the film. It has been an incredible journey and we are literally counting the days. We can’t wait for the film to release and can’t wait to share this experience with everyone,” adds Deepika sharing her excitement. ‘Padmavati’ is scheduled to release on December 1.
