We had earlier reported how Alia Bhatt had given a nod to play a Kashmiri wife in Meghna Gulzar’s yet untitled film based on Harinder Sikka’s book ‘Calling Sehmat’. Vicky Kaushal of ‘Masaan’ fame has been roped in to play Alia’s husband in this spy thriller. The espionage flick tells the story of a Kashmiri woman married to an army officer, who provides valuable information to the Indian intelligence agency from across the border. Meghna’s film will be set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
Alia Bhatt will soon begin shooting for the film with Vicky Kaushal and has already started with the initial preparations with Meghna Gulzar. Interestingly, a busy Alia could accommodate Meghna’s film, all thanks to Ayan Mukerji. The Bollywood actress was to shoot with Ranbir Kapoor for Ayan’s tentatively titled ‘Dragon’ but the film is put on hold. Hence Alia Bhatt had ready dates to accommodate another project, and so did Vicky Kaushal.
