In a moment of haste, Tabu was brought on board for Abhishek Kapoor’s upcoming release, ‘Fitoor’. “I had two days to get into this character and the film. I just went into it with a really confused head. I have known Gattu (Abhishek Kapoor) when he was 16, and I was only trusting him for the role,” reveals Tabu. ‘Fitoor’ is based on the famous novel ‘Great Expectations’ by Charles Dickens where Tabu plays a layered role of Mrs Havisham from the book and is known as Begum Hazrat in the film. From ‘Namesake’ to ‘Haider’, Tabu has done several complex characters. “Fortunately or unfortunately, I am kind of used to portraying these roles. I guess there must be something in me that attracts such difficult parts,” adds the actress. Tabu has played Katrina Kaif’s mother in ‘Fitoor’ which releases on February 12.
