Sonakshi Sinha reacts to #MeToo movement in Bollywood

Bollywood star Sonakshi Sinha, while supporting the victims in the #MeToo India movement, says that allegations should be probed in detail

The #MeToo movement is gathering a lot of momentum in India, with a lot of cases tumbling out of the film industry. From filmmaker Vikas Bahl to actor Nana Patekar, a lot of celebs and cinema stars are in the eye of the storm. Reacting to the #MeToo movement in Bollywood, Sonakshi Sinha says, “Women should definitely speak up and men who have wronged women should be punished. But I also feel that the facts should be verified, before the media or before we start talking about it. And the law should take its course.” Veteran actor Alok Nath has also been accused of sexual misconduct by several people from the entertainment industry.

As the Bollywood #MeToo movement gathers steam, many actresses like Tanushree Dutta and Sandhya Mridul are accusing actors, directors, musicians and producers of sexually harassing them. The celebs are fearlessly coming out to talk about their ordeal they went through with Nana Patekar, Ganesh Acharya, Alok Nath, Kailash Kher and Vikas Bahl and skeletons are falling out of the closet. Some, it is being accused, are repeat offenders. Tanushree Dutta, Sandhya Mridul, writer-producer Vinta Nanda and others are garnering huge support from Bollywood stars like Sushant Singh Rajput and Sonakshi Sinha, who have come out in the open to back them wholeheartedly.
