Shah Rukh Khan was honoured with the Crystal Award along with Catherine Elise Blanchett, AC aka Cate Blanchett, and legendary musician Sir Elton John at the World Economic Forum in Davos, on Monday. Shah Rukh was presented the award for his leadership in championing children’s and women’s rights in India. “I am genuinely and deeply grateful for this honour. It is indeed a privilege to be in the company of two phenomenal and extraordinary human beings and talent, Cate Blanchett and Sir Elton John,” said Shah Rukh at the Crystal Award ceremony. The ‘Swades’ actor also went on to ask for a selfie with Cate Blanchett, quickly adding that he embarrassed his children with this request. This made the actor elicit an immediate applause from the audience. Shah Rukh Khan also expressed gratitude towards his family while ending the speech, “I want to thank my sister, wife and little daughter for bringing me up well.”
