Kangna Ranaut is an A-list Bollywood actress, sought-after by several filmmakers. However, her journey to the top started with a rather bitter childhood. Kangna recently revealed, “My parents had a child before Rangoli, but he could not make it. He passed away in 10 days and was called a hero. My parents could never really emerge from the loss of that baby boy. So after Rangoli was born, she was celebrated and was taken care of really well. But when I was born, my mother couldn’t come to terms with the fact that there was another baby girl.” On asking how did she come to know about their childhood days, Kangna said, “I know these stories because every time a guest visited, they repeated this story of how I was the unwanted child.”
Not stopping here, Kangna added that living in such an atmosphere made her a rebel who left home to make it big in the world, “It is very hard to live in an environment where you are constantly told and reminded that you are not meant to be here. I guess that really explains how I broke free in such an extreme way.” Bollywood, as is known, accepted the girl with open arms, and even made her a star.

Kangna Ranaut gets a lot of support in her career from her sister-cum-manager, Rangoli. The actress is all praise for her brother-in-law who has been with Rangoli through the terrible acid attack trauma, “They have been in love since they were 15, he proposed to her and helped her through her recovery. He fought with the world to marry her. And they haven’t had a single fight till now,” said Kangna.
After being in Bollywood for more than a decade now, Kangna Ranaut has to her credit some impressive films like ‘Queen’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’. At this juncture in life, Kangna feels empowered. “I feel a lot more confident at this age than when I was younger. I guess that’s the best part of growing old,” concludes the actress.
