Kangana’s Manikarnika to lock horns with Akshay’s Gold?
Kangana Ranaut and Akshay Kumar will clash against each other if their biopic films ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ and ‘Gold’, release on the same day, August 15, 2018
Kangana Ranaut’s warrior film ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ will miss its scheduled release of April and a fresh date is yet to be announced. However, industry buzz suggests that the makers of the Rani Laxmibai biopic are eyeing to release the patriotic drama on August 15, 2018, which is the Indian Independence Day. Interestingly, another biopic has already booked the Independence Day weekend. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’ is due to release on the same day, ie, August 15, 2018. Since ‘Gold’ is based on India’s historic Olympic hockey win in 1948, the makers feel that August 15 is an apt release date for the film since it’s India’s Independence Day. If all goes as planned then Kangana’s ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’ are gearing up for a big box office clash.
