Kangana Ranaut was signed up to play the impactful role of Rani Laxmi Bai by filmmaker Ketan Mehta. However, latest buzz suggests that the big budget Bollywood period film has got no studio to back the project. ‘Rani Laxmi Bai’ has already gone overboard with its budget. Kangana Ranaut was to start shooting for the movie by the end of this year, but trade reports suggest that the biopic may not go on the floors anytime soon. For now, Kangana is busy shooting for ‘Simran’ with Hansal Mehta in the US. Her movie with Vishal Bhardwaj, ‘Rangoon’, which also stars Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan alongside Kangana Ranaut, will hit the screens in February next year.
