Kangana Ranaut has taken over the responsibility of completing her upcoming Bollywood film ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’, and has begun shooting for a grand song for the period movie. TV actress Ankita Lokhande, who marks her Bollywood debut with this magnum opus, shares, “I feel my feet lighter, rehearsing for my first Bollywood song with masterji Ganesh Acharya and our new captain Kangana Ranaut. I am super excited to be part of it.” Director Krish has shot major portions of the film, but reportedly got busy with the NTR biopic and hence Kangana Ranaut has taken over the reins in her own hands to shoot the remaining portions of the film.

Despite being launched from the pious place of Dashashwamedh Ghat at Varanasi and performing the Ganga aarti, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ has always been mired with controversy. Dropping the director Ketan Mehta like a hot potato, replacing him with Krish, then taking the direction in her own hands, not to forget the inordinate delays in releasing the film and threats from a fringe group over distorted storyline, Kangana’s dream work ‘Manikarnika’ is somehow inching towards completion. With mounting costs and post-production looming large, it is still a guess when will Kangana Ranaut and Ankita Lokhande-starrer ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ finally release.
