With Bollywood’s obsession for biopics on sports personalities, a film on the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, Mithali Raj, has been added to the list. Viacom 18 Motion Pictures has bagged the rights to make a film on Mithali Raj, who owns the record of being the highest run scorer in One Day Internationals (ODIs) with 6,000 runs to her credit. Mithali was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2003 and the Padma Shri in 2015. She is also the first Indian captain, in men and women cricket, to lead India twice in the ICC World Cup final, in 2005 and 2017. With such a glorious career and a tough journey, the makers of Mithali Raj biopic are on the lookout for a leading lady. Any suggestions?
