Akshay Kumar began his new stint on the small screen with the revival of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’, with popular stand-up comedians Zakir Khan, Mallika Dua and Hussain Dalal. Reports suggest that the show did not start off well and hence the makers have sacked Zakir, Mallika and Hussain from the show. Bollywood celebrities Sajid Khan and Shreyas Talpade have now been roped in as replacements on ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’. Mallika, Zakir and Hussain enjoy huge following on the internet but it seems like their viewers are not too fond of seeing them on the idiot box.

Sajid Khan has produced two films of the comedy franchise ‘Housefull’ while Shreyas has been associated with three films from the comic ‘Golmaal’ brand. It remains to be seen if Bollywood can finally be the saviour for this TV show which has in the past produced comics like Kapil Sharma, Raju Srivastava, Chandan Prabhakar, Sudesh Lehri and Bharti Singh. Akshay Kumar, along with Sajid Khan and Shreyas Talpade, will now hunt for another top notch stand-up comedian in India with this season of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ after the other mentors are sacked.
