Salman Khan and family is known to celebrate the Ganpati festival with great enthusiasm every year. The Khan family has been celebrating Ganesh festival with zeal since more than a decade. And as Salman Khan gears up to welcome Bappa home this year in Mumbai, his presence at the festivities seems dubious. The actor is currently away shooting for ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ in Abu Dhabi with Katrina Kaif. Buzz suggests that Salman is planning to take a break for a couple of days to fly back in town and join in the celebrations. While the team of ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ is working on a tight schedule for the December release, it remains to be seen if Salman indeed gets the opportunity to be in the city for Ganesh festival or not.

Last year too, Salman Khan faced a similar situation during Ganpati celebrations as he was away shooting for Kabir Khan’s ‘Tubelight’. Sohail Khan and Arpita Khan Sharma immersed Lord Ganesha amidst much fanfare in the absence of Sallu. Back in 2015, Salman Khan participated in the Ganpati festival with great furore dancing on the tunes of regional Nashik Dhol. Since the past few years, the Khan family bring home eco-friendly Bappa and immerse the Ganesha idol in a temporary pond made at their garden at Galaxy Apartments. The water is then used for watering plants. Several celebs and cinema stars like Katrina Kaif, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sonakshi Sinha in Bollywood frequent the Khan home during this one-and-a-half-day Ganesh festival celebrations, which Salman may miss this year.
