Aamir Khan is not dropped as the brand ambassador of Incredible India campaign. As celebsandcinema.com promised to follow up on the story, we bring to you the latest update.
After social media went into a frenzy about Aamir Khan being removed from Incredible India campaign, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India issued a statement saying, “In response to certain news reports appearing in the media, about Shri Aamir Khan, the Ministry of Tourism clarifies that there is no change in the stand of the ministry in this matter. The Ministry further clarifies that at present it has a contractual agreement with creative agency Mc Cann Worldwide to produce social awareness campaign and the said campaign featured Shri Aamir Khan.”
The entire confusion happened over an RTI query in which an activist had asked if Aamir Khan was still the brand ambassador for the government’s Incredible India campaign after his intolerance remark. Instead of replying in black and white, with either a yes or a no, the reply read about what the campaign is featuring Aamir Khan. The reply also carried a name of a government authority to contact for further clarifications, if any. This confused all and the news was picked up by the media and spread like wildfire.
