Aamir Khan: My success is all thanks to many writers and directors

Aamir Khan is known to not attend any award functions. But in a surprise move, Aamir attended the 75th Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Awards ceremony. In his thank you speech, the celebs and cinema star gave all the credit to his writers and directors

Aamir Khan broke his rule of not attending awards functions on Monday evening when he graced the 75th Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Awards. The celebrity actor was honoured with Vishesh Puraskar for his film ‘Dangal’. Aamir Khan received the award from Mohan Bhagwat, the current Chief of the Hindu nationalist organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Giving a thank you speech, Aamir Khan said, “This is a huge honour for Nitesh (writer-director Nitesh Tiwari) and me. I would like to thank the Dinanath family for giving us and our film this respect. The love that ‘Dangal’ has received is because of Nitesh. He wrote a wonderful story and made this movie. The position that I have achieved today and my success are thanks to all those writers and directors whose films I have worked in. Thanks to their exceptional work that I am at this position.” It is almost after 16 years that Aamir Khan stepped out to receive an award. Apart from Aamir Khan, veteran actress Vyjayanthimala Bali and ex-cricketer Kapil Dev too were conferred with awards at the ceremony.
