Sakshi Malik brought home a Bronze medal while PV Sindhu earned a Silver for the country at the recently concluded Rio Olympics 2016. Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor feels that India could have performed better if the hardworking athletes would have got the necessary support. “If we help women then our society will get better as they are the foundation of our society. Olympics is a great example of it. They (the athletes) would have done better if they would have received more support,” says Sonam. The celebrity actress adds that the Indian women are still not considered strong and capable enough.

Having said that, Hindi cinema’s one of the top most actresses Sonam Kapoor hopes things will soon change. “We all go through a lot of issues. We are not looked at as strong and capable women. We are rather looked at as women who can’t do a lot of things and are judged based on that. I think it is very unfair. Things will hopefully get better. I am an optimistic person,” concludes Sonam Kapoor.
