Simran, Lucknow Central Box Office response dull

With dull response, ‘Simran’ collects Rs 9.48 crore while ‘Lucknow Central’ fetches Rs 7.39 crore at the Box Office in three days of their release

Amidst a whole lot of controversy surrounding Kangana Ranaut of late, ‘Simran’ hit the screens last Friday and opened to a dull response. The film received mixed reviews from the critics and collected Rs 2.43 crore on its first day of the release. With a slight growth in numbers, ‘Simran’ made Rs 3.40 crore and Rs 3.65 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Farhan Akhtar’s musical, ‘Lucknow Central’ too released on the same day and it too had a poor first day collection, that of Rs 1.74 crore. The collection increased on weekend, with Rs 2.65 crore on Saturday and Rs 3 crore on Sunday. Despite two major releases, it remained a low scoring weekend for both the films. ‘Simran’ collected a total of Rs 9.48 crore while ‘Lucknow Central’ fetched Rs 7.39 crore at the Box Office in three days of their release.
