Anil Kapoor has maintained a clear stand with regards to endorsing various brands and advertising their products. While his films were hugely popular, he was rarely seen selling any product. “I have never done endorsements and now my kids and other young people from the industry are asking me why I made such a mistake. There was a time when very few actors used to do endorsements. Dilip Kumar saab, Dev Anand saab, (Amitabh) Bachchan saab were not doing advertisements. So I thought, if they are not doing it then why should I?” says Anil Kapoor.

However, there was yet another reason as to why the actor did not want to be seen as much. Anil Kapoor adds, “I just wanted to be as pure, as exclusive and give myself totally to my filmmakers and directors. Whenever a promo or a trailer of my films would be released, there would be a certain freshness in it. This was one of the reasons for my longevity, that today I am doing good.”

Anil Kapoor has been in the industry for more than two decades. He is now open to some change with regards to endorsements. “I believe in changing with time. The way ads are now made, the aesthetics of it are very good. Doing advertisements keeps people in the news, you also make money and it is very creative these days. You get some creative satisfaction now when you do advertisements. So if there are any offers, I am open to doing them now,” clears Kapoor. The actor was seen in a car commercial a while back, but apart from that Anil Kapoor is a rare phenomenon in the advertising world even now.
