Either the differences with the director over the script or pressure from a right-wing group, Vidya Balan has dropped out of Kamala Das biopic titled ‘Aami’
Vidya Balan had begun the groundwork to play the iconic celebrity poetess Kamala Das on the silver screen. The latest update however states that Vidya Balan has walked out of the Malayalam project, titled ‘Aami’, as the final script of the film did not excite her. Vidya’s spokesperson confirmed that the director Kamaluddin Muhammed and she had very different approach to the film. So, she opted out of the movie in the most amicable and professional manner. Another gossip doing the rounds after Vidya dropped Kamala Das biopic is that it was due to the pressure from some right-wing group, which the Bollywood actress has denied outright. While the actress was thrilled to play Kamala Das in the biopic ‘Aami’, Vidya has now directed her concentration to another of her upcoming films, ‘Begum Jaan’. The first look and the trailer of ‘Begum Jaan’ will be released in February, while the film will release in March.
