The censorship controversy for ‘Udta Punjab’ seems to have paid off at the box office for this Bollywood movie. Full of the celebs and cinema world stars like Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh starrer managed to rock the box office on day one, bagging Rs 10 crore. At the end of its first week, the film made a little more than Rs 48 crore. According to trade reports, ‘Udta Punjab’ made approximately Rs 53 crore in 10 days of its release. ‘Udta Punjab’ faced little competition at the box office from other Bollywood releases like ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ and ‘Junooniyat’. Speculations are rife that ‘Udta Punjab’ will make a lifetime collection of approximately Rs 60 crore at the box office before curtains come down on the Bollywood movie.
