Tara Sutaria had to walk out of the ‘Arjun Reddy’ remake, featuring Shahid Kapoor, thanks to her contract with Dharma Productions in whose movie she will debut
Tara Sutaria was to romance Shahid Kapoor in the Hindi remake of ‘Arjun Reddy’. However, the aspiring actress has had to quit the project. Tara had signed a contract with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions that its ‘Student of The Year 2’ will be her debut movie. Unfortunately for Tara, the film’s release was postponed from November 2018 to May 2019. Keeping that in mind, the makers of ‘Arjun Reddy’ remake would have had to wait till such a long time to shoot and release their film. Hence the team of ‘Arjun Reddy’ remake is now scouting for a new leading lady. Second time father, Shahid Kapoor has already started preparing for his intense role and is also growing a beard for the Bollywood film. After his paternity leave, Shahid will begin shooting for the ‘Arjun Reddy’ remake.
It must be noted here that ‘Arjun Reddy’ was one of the biggest hits of 2017 in the Telugu film industry. We had earlier reported that Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde have acquired the official rights to remake the film. The duo has produced hit comedy film ‘Mubarakan’ in 2017. A complex love story, the ‘Arjun Reddy’ remake will be helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, also known as Sandeep Vanga, who is also the director of the original film. The story of the film revolves around a medical student and his junior and how love blossoms between the two. Many celebs and cinema stars, including Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan were being considered for the lead role in the ‘Arjun Reddy’ remake before Shahid Kapoor and Tara Sutaria were finalised. Tara, unfortunately, has had to let go of the film.
