SURPRISE: Amitabh, Aamir, Salman to vote at Oscars, Shah Rukh skipped from the list!
Celebs and cinema stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have been invited to vote at the prestigious Oscar Awards, while Shah Rukh Khan has been skipped from the list!

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, better known as Oscars, has invited 774 new members to be a part of their family from across 57 countries, this includes celebs and cinema stars from Bollywood. While Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan are invited to vote at the Oscars, Shah Rukh Khan has been skipped from the list! Amitabh Bachchan along with daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been invited to be a part of the Academy and cast a ballot at the next year’s Oscars. Priyanka Chopra, who is already earning a name internationally was made a part of the club, thanks to her cinematic contributions like ‘Barfi!’ and ‘Baywatch’. Deepika Padukone is also included in the list, recognised for her work in ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ and ‘Piku’, to vote in the Oscar Awards. Perfectionist Aamir Khan too is a part of the coveted class credited for his works like ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Lagaan’. Other Bollywood stars granted the Academy membership includes Irrfan Khan (‘Life of Pi’, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’) and Salman Khan (‘Sultan’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’). Filmmakers Goutam Ghose and Buddhadeb Dasgupta have also been invited to join the Academy and vote in the Oscars. Apparently, each celeb and cinema star will get to cast a vote in the respective category they belong to.
Referred to as the Class of 2017, the celeb invitees include 39 percent females and 30 percent people other than whites, which they refer to as people of color. Surprisingly, Shah Rukh Khan, who has hosted several international celebrities in India, is not party to the coveted invitees. Shah Rukh Khan has been skipped from voting in the Oscars! The Academy’s 774 invitations includes members from seven branches who include actors, casting directors, costume designers, designers, documentary, executives and film editors. Out of the 774 members, there are 96 Oscar nominees and 24 Oscar winners. Celebrities like Dwayne Johnson, Linus Sandgren, ‘Wonder Woman’ Gal Gadot and Naomie Harris are a few other names invited by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
