Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma-starrer ‘Sui Dhaaga: Made In India’ has packed a solid punching weekend at the box office. The film opened with Rs 8.30 crore on Friday and went on to collect Rs 12.25 crore and Rs 16 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively. ‘Sui Dhaaga: Made In India’ has emerged as a huge hit with the family audiences and in the metros. Collecting Rs 36.55 crore in the three days at the box office, the romantic drama is expected to grow in numbers, with Indian national holiday of Gandhi Jayanti on Tuesday. The success of ‘Sui Dhaaga: Made In India’ has once again spelt success for director Sharat Kataria, who successfully helmed ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ in the past.
The team of ‘Sui Dhaaga’, especially Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan, was all out to promote the Bollywood film hammer and tongs. Despite suffering from bulging disk and being under severe pain, Anushka went all out to publicise ‘Sui Dhaaga’ along with Varun Dhawan. Varun plays tailor Mauji in the film whereas Anushka portrays the role of embroiderer Mamta. The duo learnt the art of stitching and took several workshops to match their rustic characters in ‘Sui Dhaaga: Made In India’, which seems to have translated well in terms of good box office collection.
