Shruti Haasan walked the red carpet at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival 2017 along with the team of ‘Sangamithra, as they launched the first look poster at the prestigious festival in France. However once back in India, the ravishing beauty has decided to suddenly walk out of the project, which is touted to be the next ‘Bahubali’. Shruti Haasan’s PR released a statement which reads: “Shruti has, unfortunately, had to take a call not to be a part of ‘Sangamithra’. Knowing it was a massive undertaking and a long time commitment spanning over two years, she knew the importance of her training, a comprehensive script and proper date calendar. Shruti hired and started training with one of best combat trainers April onwards, to make sure she was ready in time for shoot. Despite her enthusiasm and commitment to ‘Sangamithra’, Shruti has had to give the film a miss since she had not received a proper bound script neither the right date calendar.” ‘Sangamithra’ is directed by Sundar C and Shruti was to play a fierce warrior in the film.

Since Shruti decided to drop the film, the makers of ‘Sangamithra’ are left in lurch, without a leading lady. Sri Thenandal Films, the production and distribution company based in Chennai, which is also backing this project, released its statement too. “Due to unavoidable circumstances, we are unable to proceed working with Shruti Haasan in Sangamithra,” read the makers’ official statement.

As she walked out of ‘Sangamithra’, Shruti Haasan is now busy with the promotions of ‘Behen Hogi Teri’ and is also prepping for ‘Sabaash Naidu’ with her father Kamal Haasan. The actress is also pursuing her musical aspirations on the hindsight.
