Sarbjit screening at Cannes Film Festival?

Aiswarya Rai Bachchan is synonymous with the prestigious Cannes Film Festival as the India and Bollywood face, although through a cosmetics brand. As this Bollywood celeb gears up for yet another experience at the French Riviera, her next film ‘Sarbjit’ will hit the screens at almost the same time in May. When Ash was asked if ‘Sarbjit’ will be showcased at the Cannes Film Festival, this celeb of the cinema world said, “I don’t know if they will be able to make the opportunity possible on that platform as well. Given the timelines, if it is possible then the team will look for the Cannes opportunity. But there are too many deadlines to be met. So this could be an opportunity we may have to regretfully miss out. We will announce ‘Sarbjit’s’ inclusion, if at all, in the last 10 days. It would be a perfect platform to announce the film.”

Aishwarya Rai expressed that she is not there just as a representative of a brand but also interacts with the many celebrities present at the Cannes Film Festival, “Cannes is a market for cinema, you are there sharing your cinema with others. It opens up avenues for the possibility of marketing and viewing your cinema. So much is packed at the Cannes Film Festival, while it all looks glamorous, it is also hard work. It is pleasurable chaos for me.”
