Come Diwali, Bollywood star Salman Khan will launch six theatres across Maharashtra which will sell tickets at heavily subsidised rates, while it will be free for kids. The celeb and cinema actor has roped in six single screens for this dream project which is being developed by the name of Salman Talkies. Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shivaay’ will be the first two films to be showcased at Salman Talkies. Salman Khan strongly believes that the ticket prices should be brought down to make movies accessible to all and increase the footfalls. Hence Salman Khan has taken this big decision, to launch Salman Talkies. Apparently, this subsidised theatre chain may also open in Uttar Pradesh by as early as 2017.

Having started with Salman Talkies, buzz is that celeb and cinema star Salman Khan is also planning to construct a private theatre in either Juhu or Bandra in Mumbai. The lavish property will house a swimming pool, gym, garden and a theatre. On the professional front, Salman is busy shooting for Kabir Khan’s ‘Tubelight’ and in March 2017 he will begin work on Yash Raj Films’ ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. The Bollywood actor has a packed schedule as he will begin work for ‘Dabangg 3’ too, which Salman Khan plans to release during Eid 2018. Hopefully by then, his chain of theatres, Salman Talkies will be all set. Amar Butala, COO of Salman Khan Films, remained unavailable for comments.
