Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali reunited to announce ‘Inshallah’, which will feature Alia Bhatt as the leading lady. ‘Inshallah’ was scheduled to go on the floors this month, with a majestic song and dance sequence, aiming for a release during Eid 2020. However in a shocking revelation, Salman Khan has announced that ‘Inshallah’ will not hit the screens on its scheduled date. “The film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali is pushed but I will still see you all on Eid 2020. Insha-Allah,” shared Salman Khan on his Twitter account. The reason for ‘Inshallah’ getting postponed has not been revealed but it could well be an interruption in shooting schedule as both the leads are busy with other projects. While Salman has ‘Bigg Boss’ season 13 starting soon, Alia Bhatt has ‘Brahmastra’, ‘Sadak 2’ and her South debut ‘RRR’ lined up back-to-back.
‘Kick 2’ to replace ‘Inshallah’?
Interestingly, rumours are rife that Salman Khan’s ‘Kick 2’ may be in the pipeline and will take the holiday spot vacated by Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed ‘Inshallah’. Sajid Nadiawala had confirmed that he will helm the sequel to his directorial debut ‘Kick’, which released in 2014. Reports that had come out some time back stated that Sallu had enjoyed the script’s narration and has green-lit the project, ‘Kick 2’. He was supposed to begin shooting the film in mid-2020, but could well have preponed the action drama, to replace ‘Inshallah’. With ‘Kick 2’, fans can still catch-up a Salman Khan film during Eid 2020, the way the star claims, instead of ‘Inshallah’.
The big Eid fight
Eid 2020 was booked by Rohit Shetty for his Akshay Kumar-starrer cop film ‘Sooryavanshi’. However, he let go of the mega-holiday box office weekend for Salman Khan! The filmmaker and Salman came together to announce that ‘Inshallah’ will release during Eid 2020 and that ‘Sooryavanshi’ has been preponed to March 27, 2020. While Salman managed to establish his supremacy for Eid, as many industry experts and fans felt back then, he doesn’t have any film in hand now which could release during the Eid of 2020, or so says the record. Rumours were rife that Akshay was upset with this move but later took to Twitter to clear the air about “certain negative trends”. Thus, the way for ‘Inshallah’ to release on Eid 2020 was cleared, only to be changed now, and thanks to that, Salman Khan’s ‘Kick 2’ is back into the picture!
