Salman Khan highest advance tax payer, Kareena’s income drops

Salman Khan has paid the highest advance tax in Bollywood, a figure of Rs 44.5 crore, for the fiscal year 2016-2017. The ‘Sultan’ actor has recorded a jump of 39 percent in his income, as Salman Khan paid an advance tax of Rs 32.2 crore in the fiscal year 2015-2016. With back-to-back hits like ‘Airlift’, ‘Housefull 3’ and ‘Rustom’ last year, Akshay Kumar stands second in paying annual advance tax, at Rs 29.5 crore. Akshay Kumar had paid Rs 30 crore advance tax last year. ‘Kaabil’ star Hrithik Roshan is a close third as he has paid an advance tax of Rs 25.50 crore.
Deepika Padukone is ruling the roost as far as advance tax in female category is concerned in Bollywood celebs. Despite having no Bollywood release and a single Hollywood outing with ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’, Deepika Padukone has given an advance tax payment of Rs 10.25 crore for the financial year 2016-2017. Deepika recorded a minor increase in income from last year, when she paid an advance tax of Rs 9 crore. Close on the heels of the leggy lass is rising star Alia Bhatt, who has recorded a whopping increase in income. Alia Bhatt logged a massive 46 percent rise in her income and has subsequently paid an advance tax of Rs 4.33 crore this year. Last year, celebrity Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt had paid Rs 2.90 crore as advance tax.
Interestingly, another celebrity Bollywood star, Kareena Kapoor Khan has recorded a drop in income by 44 percent this year despite being seen in ‘Ki & Ka’ and ‘Udta Punjab’. Bebo, who embraced motherhood last year, paid an advance tax of Rs 3.9 crore in contrast to Rs 7 crore she paid in 2015-2016.
