Saif Ali Khan’s love and crime saga, ‘Kaalakaandi’ has finally got a release date, and it clashes with Sunny Deol’s ‘Poster Boys’. ‘Kaalakaandi’ will release on September 8, 2017. “‘Kaalakaandi’ is a film I’m so happy to be a part of! It’s a cross section of Mumbai with underworld goons, doomed bankers and idealistic lovers all mixed together in this karmic tale. It is about love, crime and living a lifetime in one night! Akshat Verma has written and directed this unique movie and he is probably the only voice who tells it exactly like it actually is. Mumbai is a crazy and a beautiful city and he is captured it perfectly in this very fun and moving film,” informs Saif. ‘Kaalakaandi’ is made on a small budget and ‘Poster Boys’, starring Sunny ‘dhai kilo ka haath’ Deol and Bobby Deol, will be its only competitor when the both the films release in September, clashing with each other.
‘Kaalakaandi’ will mark the directorial debut of ‘Delhi Belly’ writer Akshat Verma. A thrilling dark comedy set in Mumbai, the film explores lives of six urban and ambitious characters from different worlds. ‘Kaalakaandi’ is going to be a raucous tale about life, death and karma, that barrel through one monsoon night.
