Ranveer Singh agrees to play Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan’s next

Ranveer Singh has agreed to play Indian cricket legend and former captain Kapil Dev in director Kabir Khan’s next Bollywood film, based on the World Cup victory of 1983

We had informed our readers that Ranveer Singh was mulling over the decision to portray Kapil Dev on the silver screen in March, and the actor has finally given a nod! While working on ‘Tubelight’, Kabir Khan had offered Ranveer the film which will immortalise India’s cricket World Cup victory of 1983. The ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ actor has started preparing to play the cricketing legend and will be accompanied by a strong supporting cast. Kabir Khan has completed the script and plans are on to shoot the project early in 2018, at real locations. This project will be Ranveer’s third outing to play real-life characters onscreen after his portrayal of Peshwa Bajirao in ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and Mughal ruler Alauddin Khilji in upcoming ‘Padmavati’.
