Rajkummar Rao looks impressive in his newest web-series, ‘Bose Dead/Alive’. The actor undertook months of research to aptly represent Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the icon of patriotism. “It was a tough task for me. I don’t really look like him. It was not a very conventional casting. I had to put in a lot of efforts. I read many books on his life and also spent time at Netaji Bhavan, his place in Kolkata. There are a lot of videos and documentaries available, so I indulged in that to understand how he was as a person,” explains Rajkummar Rao. Under the creative direction of Hansal Mehta, Rajkummar was able to achieve a near-identical physical appearance, and going by the trailer, the actor confidently portrays Netaji on the silver screen. “It is very rare that you get to play a character like Netaji. I feel fortunate to have got this opportunity to play it in ‘Bose Dead/Alive’,” quips Rajkummar.
