Priyanka Chopra’s grandmother passes away

Priyanka Chopra’s maternal grandmother (Nani) passed away today morning, state reports. While the reason of her demise is not known, Priyanka Chopra would surely be facing a major blow.

Priyanka Chopra had recently shared a picture with her Nani, when she had turned 94 on May 27. The actress had posted back then, “Happy 94th birthday, Nani. So happy to be home for it. Found this old picture. Don’t know why we all look so pissed off. But I think my mom was forcing us to take the picture. #MissedHome #Throwback.”

In February this year, Priyanka Chopra had shown her desire to be like her grandmother. “My grandma commands attention wherever she goes, even on a film set. I want to grow up to be like her,” she wrote on Twitter in February, while on the sets of ‘Jai Gangaajal’. Looking at her such strong emotional bond with her grandmother, who left for heavenly abode, Priyanka Chopra must be inconsolable at the moment.

The actress is currently in the city for a short time, which Piggy Chops was to dedicate to her expensively paying brand endorsements. Priyanka Chopra is reportedly in Mumbai for a 45 days schedule but it remains to be seen if the actress decides to stay back with her mother Madhu Chopra during this emotional time after her grandmother’s death.
