Trouble continues to mount for director-producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali and ‘Padmavati’ as the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has turned down the request of the makers to expedite the certification process of the movie. ‘Padmavati’ will be reviewed and certified as per set norms of following the chronological order of all the applications, states a report of news agency ANI. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ was just two weeks away from its scheduled release of December 1, but it is being said that the Censor Board has neither screened the film for its members nor has issued a certificate as yet. Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmavati’ now has no release date, thanks to numerous protests, controversies, allegations and threats delaying the film.

Adding fuel to the fire of ‘Padmavati’ fight, a senior leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana, Suraj Pal Amu offered Rs 10 crore to behead Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone! “Want to congratulate Meerut youth for announcing Rs 5 crore bounty for beheading Deepika and Bhansali. We will reward the ones beheading them with Rs 10 crore, and also take care of their family’s needs,” said Suraj Pal Amu. According to a report on NDTV website, the BJP has asked the party’s chief media coordinator Suraj Pal Amu to explain his shocking statement declaring bounty. Anil Jain, another senior leader from Haryana, stated that the ruling party does not support this sort of threat issued by Suraj Pal Amu.

Coming to the rescue of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone, National Commission for Women (NCW) has appealed to DGP, Haryana, requesting to take appropriate action against Suraj Pal Amu’s bounty statement at the earliest and in accordance with the law, reports ANI. It must be noted here that ‘Padmavati’ and its many celebs and cinema stars have already faced several acts of vandalism and violence by a fringe Rajput group Karni Sena.

Despite its celebs and cinema stars Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor’s clarification and repeated appeals, ‘Padmavati’ continues to be mired in controversies. In a damage control mode, co-producer Viacom18 issued an official statement about the film’s release. The official statement reads: “Viacom18 Motion Pictures, the studio behind ‘Padmavati’, has voluntarily deferred the release date of the film from December 1st, 2017. We will announce the revised release date of ‘Padmavati’ in due course. We stand firm in our commitment to telling endearing tales that resonate with our audiences the world over, as we have in the past with our other projects such as ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Queen’, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ and many more.”

‘Padmavati’ is still awaiting final and new release date as Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh-starrer ‘Padmavati’ presently stands without any release date.
