Neil Nitin Mukesh’s character bears an uncanny resemblance to late politician Sanjay Gandhi in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Indu Sarkar’. The actor delved into the skin of the character, for which Neil did a lot of homework. “This is one of the most challenging roles I have ever essayed, and this project has been very close to my heart. I have put in a lot of research into my character, which is quite different from my previous roles,” states an upbeat Neil Nitin Mukesh with beaming eyes. Known for his real life silver screen stories, Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Indu Sarkar’ will explore the journey of a stammering poetess, script set against the backdrop of Emergency imposed during the Indira Gandhi government from 1975 to 1977. Kirti Kulhari will play the titular role of Indu in ‘Indu Sarkar’ as the film also features Anupam Kher and popular Bengali actor Tota Roy Chowdhury in pivotal roles.

Apart from this high on drama ‘Indu Sarkar’, Neil Nitin Mukesh is the newest addition to the cast of the comedy franchise ‘Golmaal’. The actor has been shooting with Rohit Shetty and team in Goa for ‘Golmaal Again’, which will hit the screens during Diwali of 2017.
