Appreciating the new move, of getting the film certified first and then announce the release date, by the Censor Board, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt hails the bold step
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), aka Censor Board, is planning to go digital, which will not allow filmmakers to get their movies censored last minute. Not just that. The Censor Board’s this move will also stop filmmakers from announcing the release dates of their films before the certification. Lauding this move of the Censor Board, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt says, “This system is good, that you get it censored first and later on announce the release date. You then get the space to argue with them and also approach a lot of other windows like the revising committee, tribunal and the court as well, if at all. You need to believe in the sanctity of that document (Censor certificate),” who got his bold film ‘Begum Jaan’ through the Censor Board first before announcing the release date of April 14.
