Karisma Kapoor and estranged husband Sunjay Kapur filed for divorce almost two years ago. While they are still to be legally separated, the proceedings keep getting uglier. The most recent twist in their divorce is that Karisma Kapoor has allegedly filed a dowry case against Sunjay and his mother Rani, also claiming that they mentally harassed her. An FIR also has been lodged by Karisma, dowry being a serious offence may spell trouble for Sunjay.
Both the parties have been throwing filthy allegations at each other from time to time. A rather contrasting statement had come from Sunjay Kapur’s side in the past. He stated that Karisma had married him for his money and also that she would not allow him to meet their kids. Their next hearing for the case, at the Bandra family court, is due in March first week.
Karisma-Sunjay tied the knot in 2003 and have two kids, Samaira and Kiaan, whose custody is an important element in this legal battle. Lolo shifted base to Mumbai from Sunjay’s house in Delhi in 2010 and the duo ended their 12 years long marriage by opting for a divorce on mutual consent in 2014. Karisma later withdrew the same as Sunjay failed to meet the financial commitments.
