Karan Johar doesn’t believe in ruffling feathers with anyone in Bollywood. And Salman Khan is no exception for him! When the celebrity filmmaker was recently asked if he would ever release his cinema on Eid, which is considered to bring in loads of audiences, Karan Johar said, “I don’t want to release any film on Eid. That is owned by Salman Khan. If Salman and I together do a film then I would very happily arrive on Eid, otherwise it is best not,” leaving the festivities to Sallu. Karan Johar’s last release, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ clashed with ‘Shivaay’ at the Bollywood Box Office. Of late, many Hindi films are overlapping each other, thanks to the growing cinema. Since films are being released on the same day, speaking about date woes, KJo adds, “We make sure that we come in a climate, or on a day when we can optimise our numbers well. You have to really and truly strategize your release and see a lot of verticals before releasing it. The number of screens and post promotions too have to be organised. The release date is becoming more and more challenging. It is something that we toy with a lot.”
