Kangana’s Manikarnika postponed for Rajinikanth’s 2.0

Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ may get postponed to make way for Rajinikanth-starrer ‘2.0’ and to preferably have a good solo run, or less competition at the box office

Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘2.0’ is finally set to release during Diwali, on November 29. Interestingly, the makers of Kangana Ranaut-starrer period drama ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ were also eyeing the same date to release their mega budget flick. Earlier, both the films were to clash in April. However, with VFX work pending, both ‘2.0’ and ‘Manikarnika’ were postponed. While it seems like November 29 may see two big releases, trade buzz suggests that Kangana may once again delay the release of her Jhansi act. This could purely be a business decision as the makers would want ‘Manikarnika’ to either have a good solo run at the box office or would prefer less competition at the ticket windows. ‘2.0’ is a sci-fi thriller featuring Akshay in a negative role, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’, on the other hand, is a warrior biopic depicting the life of the brave Rani Laxmibai, the queen of Jhansi.
