Celebs and cinema stars, Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut’s onscreen chemistry in ‘Rangoon’ has garnered enough eyeballs, but their controversy off the screen has gathered more steam. Rumours are rife that Shahid Kapoor has decided never to sign a film with Kangana Ranaut. However, the latter has a different story to tell. Reacting to the rumours, and spilling the beans on the cold war with Shahid Kapoor Kangana says, “We were together at a recent screening and he didn’t tell me anything like that. There is no such thing.” Apparently, it all started during one of the interviews when Kangana had described the experience of working with Shahid as ‘nightmarish’, to which the Bollywood hero retorted as ‘vivid imagination’. However, time and again the celebs and cinema stars have maintained that there was no tiff between them, refuting all the rumours of their differences on the sets of ‘Rangoon’.

As ‘Rangoon’ hits the screens today, there is more worry for the makers than just the tiff between its lead celebs stars, Kangana and Shahid. The Bombay High Court has reportedly ordered the makers of ‘Rangoon’ to deposit Rs 2 crore in a copyright infringement case by a film production and distribution company Wadia Movietone, established in 1933. The legal suit states that Kangana Ranaut’s character of Miss Julia has been borrowed a lot from the fearless Nadia, the protagonist of the 1935 film ‘Hunterwali’, produced and distributed by Wadia Movietone. “The character is not inspired by anyone and there have been many action heroines in the 1940s. To draw similarities is wrong,” reacts Kangana.
