Queen of the silver screen, Kangana Ranaut was injured on the sets of her upcoming war epic, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. The actress was reportedly shooting for a swordfight sequence in Hyderabad when the stunt went awry, leaving the actress bleeding profusely with a head injury and 15 stitches! The actress was immediately rushed to the Apollo Hospital and is currently recovering but she may be left with a permanent scar once the injury on her head heals. Fortunately, nothing happened to her eyes, as an inch or two to the left or right, and it would have risked hitting the eyes. ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ will see Kangana portray the fierce role of Rani Laxmibai, the queen of princely state Jhansi in North India. The first poster of this ambitious movie was released in Varanasi some time back. ‘Manikarnika’ will be directed by Krish and will hit the screens on April 27, 2018.

Apart from Kangana Ranaut’s head injury, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ hit the headlines a couple of months ago with a legal controversy surrounding the project. Filmmaker Ketan Mehta slammed Kangana with a legal notice alleging that the actress had hijacked his project ‘Rani of Jhansi – The Warrior Queen’, the film which Kangana had earlier agreed to do before taking reins in her own hand and turning it into ‘Manikarnika’. Kangana’s current injury is right at the centre, between the two eyes, and just above the nose.
