Ever since Kapil Sharma walked out of ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ which was aired on Colors, the actor has been at loggerheads with the channel. The Indian TV industry is buzzing with their tiff and subsequent ‘breakup’.

With a new name, a new theme and a new channel, the TV comedian has launched ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. The very first episode will air on Sony TV on April 23 and has Shah Rukh Khan as the guest. The Badshah of Bollywood has even shot for some interesting promos with Kapil.
In a bid to retain viewership on their channel, Colors has come up with a cunning move. The channel apparently was not very confident that Krushna Abhishek, who was brought in as Kapil’s competitor, will be able to pull off the show on April 23 or not. Hence, the big minds at the channel decided to air the biggest Bollywood film of 2015, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ on the same date, and at the same time.
Here’s more. It is not just the film which will act as the attention seeker, but Colors is going to showcase the movie without any advertisements! Yes, you read it right. There will be no breaks during the airing of ‘Bajirao Mastani’, which otherwise they could have cashed-in on big time.
Now that’s what is called a smart business move. However, it remains to be seen if the Colors’ offer for its viewers is tempting enough for the Kapil Sharma loyalists to switch the channel or not.
