Sanjay Dutt’s last silver screen appearance was a cameo in Rajkumar Hirani’s 2014 release ‘PK’. Putting behind his tough time in the jail, the actor stepped in front of the camera after more than three years. Sharing the experience of facing the camera for his comeback film ‘Bhoomi’, Sanjay Dutt says, “First day on the sets felt like I was back home, with all the lights, camera and hustle-bustle of the sets. I was a bit nervous, but when the first dialogue went fine, I felt better.” Omung Kumar-directed ‘Bhoomi’ is an emotional drama exploring the relationship of a father with his daughter. “I had thought that my first film should be a good, performance-based movie and should have a message as well. I wanted to be a part of a film that would make my elder brother Vidhu Vinod Chopra, my wife and sister proud,” added Sanjay Dutt. The actor is now busy promoting the film and has put his past behind, despite the controversy of his early release and re-arrest looming large. ‘Bhoomi’ releases on September 22.
