Aamir Khan seemed to be the perfect choice to play the celebrated astronaut Rakesh Sharma on the silver screen and the shooting of the film, tentatively titled ‘Salute’, was to begin in 2018. However, perfectionist Khan has given his last salute to the film as he is working on something special. According to trade buzz, Aamir Khan is developing a franchise under his production house Aamir Khan Productions Pvt Ltd, which will take up most of his time. The ‘Dangal’ actor is working to create a brand which will feature him in the lead role in a list of films which he plans to develop over the years under his home production.

Putting his home production into focus, Aamir Khan has decided not to sign up for any other project for the next 10 years! But before he embarks on a decade-long journey for Aamir Khan Productions, Mr Perfectionist is winding-up shooting for ‘Thugs of Hindostan’, which could well be his last film for the time being, outside his home banner.

With Aamir out of the Rakesh Sharma biopic ‘Salute’, speculations are rife that Shah Rukh Khan has been roped in to play the part in the Siddharth Roy Kapur production. However, SRK had recently stated, “I haven’t signed any new film yet, except for the Aanand L Rai film.”
