Stepping into a complete de-glam avatar, Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has played an impactful role in ‘Sarbjit’, that of Sarabjit Singh’s sister Dalbir Kaur. Apparently, the actress charged bare minimum to be a part of this project, which is based on the real life story of an Indian farmer held in Pakistan’s prison. Producer of ‘Sarbjit’, Sandeep Singh states, “Not many know but Aishwarya Rai has not charged any fees for this film. Whatever we gave her as an actress, she donated it all to her NGO. Even Randeep has charged less. Dalbirji too has not taken any money for the rights of the film.” This Bollywood film may not be full of celebs and cinema world stars but Sarabjit Singh’s story is expected to be one intense silver screen journey.

Dedicated to promote her movie in full throttle, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will reportedly give a miss to the amfAR Gala at the 69th Cannes Film Festival to be held from 11th to 22nd May 2016. Speaking about her sensitive role in the film, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan says, “We are professionals doing a job. Getting into a character is Saraswati (goddess of knowledge, music, arts, wisdom and learning) for us and that’s what we do every waking day, when we go to work.” After the cast and crew shedding its blood and sweat for moths together, ‘Sarbjit’ is ready to release on May 20.
