Anil Kapoor has decades of experience working in front of the camera, which came after many rejections. Speaking at the ongoing International Film Festival of India (IFFI) event, the actor reminisced how he accidentally started a trend in Bollywood. “I faced a lot of rejections and I initially cried a lot. But those rejections actually helped me! I was told that I looked like a kid and hence I started keeping a stubble, to look macho. And now every actor has got a stubble, which is indirectly my contribution to the industry,” said the ‘Fanney Khan’ actor. Come 2019 and Anil Kapoor has two releases lined up – a multi-starrer ‘Total Dhamaal’ and his first venture with daughter Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’.

Interestingly, while Anil has made a successful career in the industry, the actor reveals that he never pressurised his daughter to get in front of the camera. “Sonam joined (filmmaker) Sanjay Leela Bhansali as she wanted to become a director and worked on ‘Black’. But Bhansali saw the actress in her and felt that she has the right persona. I knew that she can become an actress, but I wanted her to find it herself,” adds Anil.
