TV actress Deepshikha Nagpal has filed a police complaint against her ex-husband Kaishav Arora, whom she divorced recently. The small screen actress wants to lead by example for all those women who face similar abuse. Deepshikha says, “The policemen are saying that they will support and help me. When I filed the complaint for the first time, I thought he will be fine. Everybody has to give one chance to their marriage. But if the man does it again, and on Women’s Day I am being beaten up, I will not take it. If I keep quiet then what about those other women?” with worry in her tone not just for her own self but for the gender at large.
Kaishav Arora and Deepshikha divorced just a few days ago. On March 8, Kaishav turned up at Deepshikha’s residence demanding money, and left her with a bleeding nose. The actress had approached the Bangur Nagar police station yesterday.
Deepshikha states that she is only looking for protection now, “Right now I am only doing the legal procedure. I need justice, I need my protection. No one has the right to hurt a woman, be it me or anyone else. I don’t want to interfere in anyone else’s life, but I need protection for my life.” With Kaishav, it was Deepshikha’s second marriage which took place in 2012.
