‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3’ faced some tough competition from Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Airlift’. While one is a sex comedy, Akki’s film is based on a real life incident and provides a high dose of drama.

Tusshar Kapoor and Aftab Shivdasani starrer ‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3’ has collected Rs 8.15 crore on its first day. The film apparently opened to an occupancy of 30-35 percent and is expected to do decent business in Mumbai if not great. ‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3’ may not see a considerable rise in numbers over the weekend as family crowds will prefer to check-in for ‘Airlift’. ‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3’ is produced by Ekta Kapoor at a budget of approximately Rs 47 crore.

Since Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur starrer ‘Airlift’ is based on a real life lesser known incident, it is one of the much awaited films of the year. And going by the numbers, Bollywood seems to have started 2016 on a positive note.

Thanks to the immense curiosity about the film, ‘Airlift’ collected approximately Rs 12 crore on its first day of release. Considering the positive word of mouth feedback, the collection is expected to rise over the weekend. According to trade buzz, ‘Airlift’ has got a good response even in the international circuits. The film is apparently made on a budget of Rs 30 crore and looks like big profits are on its way for the team to lift its spirit.

Going by the current trend, Akshay Kumar’s realistic film may eat into the business of Ekta Kapoor produced adult comedy in the days to come.
